Dr. Gary W. Streit

I'm really glad you found my website - welcome! I would like to introduce myself. I am Gary W. Streit. I was born and reared in Winchester, Virginia, nestled in the Northern tip of the Shenandoah Valley. The Streit clan came to this part of Virginia in the early 1700s to plant the Lutheran work. I am married to Marla Moore Streit and we are the parents of a daughter, Emily, married to Dr. Corey Teague. They have three wonderful children, Master, Molly, and Myles.

I've worked with the Church of the Nazarene in different parts of the country and around the world, as an educator and consultant in supporting Christian institutions of higher education. You can read more about me in my autobiography.

I am new to writing my own website, but am looking forward to sharing my experiences. I will be talking about my life as well as my activities in the Church of the Nazarene as well as the higher educational community. Please feel free to visit frequently.

I am passionate about Christian education, because I am passionate about Christ. As a young man I accepted Christ as my personal savior, and haven't looked back since. It has been an incredible journey spanning a number of years. I have travelled throughout Africa, Korea, Europe, and Brazil working with Nazarene institutions of higher education in partnership with the Church of the Nazarene International Board of Education. I have worked for many years with the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools as a consultant evaluator and peer reviewer. In fact I have participated in over 50 team assignments to as many different colleges and universities in this accreditation enterprise.

With a long and fulfilling personal history in Nazarene higher education, I am delighted and humbled to now be a part of Nazarene Bible College. To serve as Vice President for Academic Affairs at this fine institution is indeed a privilege. NBC has a long-standing tradition of excellence as a Christian college and enjoys a particular mission in her work of preparing fulltime Christian workers for ministry in the Church of the Nazarene and beyond. NBC has wonderful students on campus in Colorado Springs, as well as a rapidly growing number of online students who enroll from across the world. I am excited at the new opportunities that NBC will afford me personally and professionally and look forward to being a part of Nazarene Bible College's next chapter of growth and development. The work of this institution is indeed Kingdom work and continues to come forth "For such a time as this."

Again, welcome to my webpage. I hope you will grab a cup of Starbucks, a snack, and can stay awhile.
